I partnered with Northwestern's Engineering Design Innovation program to create the 2024 Camp EDI, a pre-term orientation that introduced new students to the program through theme, branding, and merchandise.

working with the edi program advisory team

I conducted secondary research on previous Camp EDI themes and their goals for incoming students, brainstorming ideas to design a theme that highlights student talents, personalities, and cohort cohesion.

BRAINSTORMING CONCEPTS

I then narrowed my concepts to three potential ideas and presented them to the EDI program advisory team, where they selected Concept 3: Pieces of Us for the Camp EDI theme.

After Concept 3 was selected, I began mocking various versions, attempting to refine the title to
"Fragments of Your Imagination," exploring different iterations to better capture the essence of the concept.

I presented the initial mockups and received feedback on the desired visuals and emotional tone for the theme’s posters, which guided me in finalizing the design.

For the theme..

  • I want there to be a mosaic collage, blending different moments and memories

  • I want the title to be "Pieces of Us"

  • I want it to reflect individuality while contributing to a unified, harmonious whole

Based on design feedback, I designed 6 finalized posters for 'Piece of Us,' along with merchandise such as 7 stickers to be distributed during the event.

Following the release of the event's theme, first-year students designed projects inspired by it and presented their work to the program and their cohort.
